Locations and Lodging

Please familiarize yourself with the area and network with other attendees to ensure your best experience.

A vehicle and driving or networking with others will be required to make it to both day locations, and the dinner, and/or hot springs.

The Full BuildASoil Days and Living Soil Cup Experience is spread out along the Western Slope of Colorado, from Ridgway to Grand Junction, including Montrose and Paonia.

This region has many offerings thru AirBnB and VRBO as well as hotels, bed and breakfast houses, and hostels.

There are commercial airports with major airlines in Montrose and Grand Junction.

Ridgway

Ridgway is a small town on the edge of the San Juan Mountains, it has limited options for lodging and dining, the primary attraction is the hot springs.

We are Meeting at Orvis Hot Springs on November 1st Friday afternoon around 4:20pm, Orvis closes at 9:00pm. Camping and lodging is likely to sell out at Orvis. Chipeta Lodge and MTN Lodge are nearby hotels in Ridgway within just a few miles of the hot springs.

Montrose

Montrose is 25 miles north of Ridgway and is a much more significant town with many lodging options.

The BuildASoil store is located at the north end of Montrose, this is the venue location for Day 1 of the BuildASoil Days and Living Soil Cup on Saturday, November 2nd. Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn are both on the North side of town near BuildASoil and have decent rooms. Also the Holiday Inn has been recommended and is located more in the center of Montrose.

We have been suggested to avoid the Days Inn and Black Canyon Motel in Montrose.

Paonia

Saturday night the optional add on dinner is located at Good Love restaurant in Paonia, Colorado - in the North Fork Valley along the North Fork of the Gunison river an historic organic farming and cannabis cultivation region.

The North Fork Valley contains the largest concentration of Organic farms in the state of Colorado, and a certified organic Colorado State University Research Station as well. The North Fork Valley is home to the highest elevation viticultural region that is recognized in America.

Lodging options for Saturday night in the North Fork valley include camping and limited lodging at Big B’s Orchard, The Rocky Mountain Inn.

Hotchkiss is 10 miles down-valley from Paonia and is very convenient, the Hotchkiss Inn is decent.

Grand Junction

Grand Junction is the largest city in between Denver and Salt Lake City, and is located on I-70 and US-50, 40 miles north of Montrose - it has many options for lodging.

Downtown and Airport area hotels are decent. Double Tree Hilton by the Airport is proper, downtown the Hampton Inn and Tru by Hilton are suggested as quality locations.

Avoid hotels/motels on North Avenue and Horizon Ave.
